In Honour of International Women’s Day, WFDM Introduces Menstrual Leave for Female Employees
WFDM, a group of companies based in Malta, is proud to announce that it will be one of the first companies in Malta to introduce menstrual leave to all of its female employees. This new policy is aimed at supporting the overall well-being of female employees and acknowledging the unique challenges that come with menstruation.
The new policy will provide paid leave for up to twelve days per year for female employees who experience painful and difficult periods that significantly impact their ability to perform their job duties. This leave will not count against their sick or vacation time, allowing female employees to take the time they need to manage their menstrual health without compromising their work obligations.
“We recognize that menstruation is a normal and natural part of life, and for some women, it can be a challenging and painful experience,” said Matthew Mantvydas Narusevicius, CEO of WFDM. “We believe that by introducing menstrual leave, we are sending a message to our female employees that we support them and care about their overall wellbeing. This is just one of the many steps we are taking to ensure that WFDM remains an inclusive and supportive workplace for women.”
WFDM hopes that by introducing menstrual leave, other companies will follow suit, and menstrual leave will become a standard policy in the workplace. By acknowledging the unique needs of female employees, WFDM is setting an example for other companies in Malta and beyond.
On this International Women’s Day, WFDM wishes all the hardworking women out there a happy and empowering day. WFDM recognizes the countless contributions that women make to our society and is committed to promoting gender equality in the workplace and beyond.
